The Shepherd’s Center of Annandale Springfield, helps senior adults (over the age of 50) to continue to live independently by providing services such as transportation for medical appointments during the week and to shopping and banking on weekends.  All of these trips are done by volunteers in the community. Please join the Shepherd Center in this effort and really make a difference in the life of someone in your community.

The Shepherd’s Center of Fairfax-Burke currently needs volunteers for the following positions: 

Medical Drivers.  Driver trips normally take two hours and average about 20 miles with destinations to medical, dental, rehab, and shopping locations in the Fairfax and Burke regions.

Office Staff.  Volunteers take phone requests and arrange for volunteer drivers three days in advance for medical transportation request for appointments Monday through Friday and a week in advance for Companion Shopping trips that are scheduled for Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings. Volunteers work in our office at 4019 Olley Lane, Fairfax for three hours every other week.
