Types of Volunteers

Volunteers at the ECHO building:

There are five morning shifts (Monday through Friday, 9:30AM to 12:30PM), three evening shifts (Tue, Wed and Thur, 7:00PM-9:00PM) and one Saturday morning per month when volunteers work in the ECHO building.  Generally, volunteers choose one or more shifts per week or month.  Some groups "job share" covering one shift each week with different individuals. Teens may sign up to work on Wednesdays, 7 – 9 PM.

Volunteers outside of the ECHO building:

As various items are collected by ECHO, some items are not used by clients but rather are sold at the yard sale. Volunteers are needed to sort through these items and price them for the sale.

Volunteers can also coordinate and conduct food drives from their homes.

Seasonal Volunteers

Extra volunteers are needed for the various seasonal ECHO Activities

  •      The twice yearly yard sale held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church
  •      Letter Carriers food drive (at ECHO building)
  •      Boy Scout food drive (at ECHO building)
  •      School supplies assembly (at ECHO building)
  •      Holiday store toy bundling and store operation (at ECHO building)

Special Group Projects

Businesses, youth groups, and affiliated schools can run drives to collect new household goods; selected food items; athletic socks and underclothes for men, women, boys and girls in all sizes; and personal care items (especially those always in short supply).  Please see our Collection Drive Guidelines to help your group get started.
